Welcome to The Gooseberry Review, a newsletter all about exploring how to make creative work and living more achievable in the every day. This is a warm hodgepodge of essays, anecdotes, and beloved traditions and I’m so grateful that you’re here.

I like to imagine that you’ve found your way to this humble anthology because a friendly stranger chatted with you about how to love a book while riding the subway or a dear friend gushed about calm being the key for magic at a recent brunch date; and now that you’ve arrived, you like the scribbles enough to visit regularly (or subscribe below, oooooh!) and carry some of the ideas into your everyday life. Thank you, truly!

To begin, pieces will be organized into three reoccurring columns:

Creative Career (better name to come?)
An on-going column that explores how to turn your passions into a lasting livelihood, as well as approaches for working in a way that bolsters brave creativity instead of burning it out. I’ll discuss photography that paints your wildest dreams, heartfelt branding that brings an emotional charge to your work, how to communicate your offerings and more.

Subtext
An on-going anthology of fiction and thought snippets that explores leading a creatively satisfying and sentimental life. May something within, between or around what’s written inspire you. (On a personal level, this one is also an exercise in bravery for myself, as it’s been many years since I’ve shared any creative writing publicly.)

Artful Living
A series about activating creative living practices and philosophies, as well as artistic outlooks that feel good to live by. I’ll also be sharing new and archived personal projects that I rarely (or never) talk about and some peeks into how I personally choose to activate some artistry in my everyday life as well.
