Hi, I’m Laura, the founder of Gooseberry Studios (est. 2013). As a photographer, brand strategist and writer, I build visual stories and strategies for brands who want to become beloved and help people embrace their own creative everyday way of work and life. Let’s turn inspiration into action because so – much – is – possible!
If you’re unsure how to start practicing slow creativity, start here:
Read.
Focus on one thing at a time.
Read some more.
Listen to music often.
Unplug - and stop questioning it.
Work with your hands
(even if that's merely pen and paper)
Replace scrolling with searching
(seek out meaningful content vs accepting whatever pops up in front of you)
Embrace daily day dreaming.
Build something just for you.
Fall in love with revising
(because creating is a process)
Know that small can be valuable.
Play with possibility.
Dabble constantly.
Fixate on process instead of outcome.
Take time to take care.
We live in a digital age where, as creatives, the consensus seems to be that we need to churn out “content” almost constantly in order to “stay connected,” relevant and in people’s minds. This is a myth and embracing slower creativity can not only reinstill in us a sense of calm, but also lead us to some of our best ideas.
